The Zulu Calabash has become an important ritual, a piece of African symbolism that has been part of every expedition since the 1993 Cape to Cairo Expedition where it was filled at the Cape of Good Hope and emptied at the mouth of The Nile.

Scroll of Peace and Goodwill

Every Kingsley Holgate Expedition carries a Scroll of Peace and Goodwill.

The most recent Scroll of Peace and Goodwill was in support of Malaria Prevention and accompanied the Outside Edge Expedition through 33 countries. Endorsed by Nobel Peace Prize laureates Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela the scroll went on to be messaged by Presidents, Priests, Ambassadors, Paramount Chiefs, The Voodoo King of Benin, The King of Lagos, The Ashanti King of Ghana, The President in exile of Western Sahara, The Governor of Ancient Alexandria, The President of Djibouti and over 6000 others living and working around the outside edge of Africa.

The next Scroll of Peace and Goodwill will be in support of Nature, Culture and Community for The Boundless Southern Africa Expedition – West to East across Africa.
